Mother’s Day Facebook Session Giveaway!

When people are asked what their favorite holiday is, many will say Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween…while those are close in the top favorites for me (especially Halloween, haha), my absolute FAVORITE day of the year is Mother’s Day.  As a mother of three young boys, I know how important it is to capture these special moments in your life because before you know it, in a blink of an eye, it will be 10 years later and you’ll be thinking to yourself, “where did the time go?”

One of the most amazing people in my life is my mother…there truly is nothing like a mother’s love.  She is the backbone of the family, a firm voice when needed, but a heart of gold and full of love all the time.  A mother’s comfort always makes you feel secure and brightens your day no matter what mood you’re in.  I know that if I even have a few days where I don’t call or visit my mom, it’s amazing how much I miss seeing her or talking to her.  I’ve always looked up to her and still to this day, I know that if I can be even close to the kind of mother she has been to my brothers and I, I will know that I’ve done well and will be proud.

Celebrate the mom in your life by entering her to win a  fabulous Mother’s Day giveaway! Whether it’s your mom, daughter, sister, friend or wife, tell us why she should win! I’ll narrow down the nominations to the Top 3.  The 3 moms will be put up on the blog along with why they’ve been nominated and voting will begin!  You’ll be able to vote via comment here or on FB.  Winner will be announced on Mother’s Day.  For anyone who doesn’t win and books a session, you’ll receive 10% off the session fee when your session is booked between May-July 2011. This is my wedding season so there is very limited availability.  Spots will book fast!

Here are the rules:

1. Email tj_sweet@verizon.net of why you feel you, your Mom, or a Mom you know, deserves a complimentary portrait session (please include their full name, email address and home address so I can mail them the gift certificate).  Please put “Mother’s Day Contest” in the subject line.  Feel free to email me a photo as well to add to your story.

2. You can either nominate yourself or another deserving Mom

3. The session must take place in Rhode Island and within the month of May.  Session is for up to four subjects (additional subject are allowed but will be $15 per person).

4. Join my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Greenville-RI/Teresa-Sweet-Photography/35033996945

5.  Share this giveaway with your friends & family on Facebook as well.  Spread the word…who knows, if enough entries are received maybe more prizes will be given! 🙂

I will take the submitted entries until the end of April.  Voting will begin May 1st!  The winner will be announced on Mother’s Day via Facebook & my blog. At that time, I will mail you (or them) a beautiful gift certificate notifying them of their amazing gift!

Good luck and I can’t wait to hear about all of the fabulous Mothers out there!!!

Tyler….6 months.

I cannot believe our little man is 6 months old already.  Our third son…our baby.  Seems like yesterday that he was just born. :*(  The days are passing by way too quickly and I realize that I am getting too caught up in every day activities, the routines, business obligations (which is great, of course!)…but I’m lacking in taking photos of my kiddos!  Eeeek!  So, while I was playing legos with our 2nd son the other day, I put Tyler in his car seat to sit with us, put a blanket behind him and took some photos since he was just giggling and shrieking with laughter!  These photos capture his personality perfectly.  Thought I would share them with you! 🙂

nothing better than a baby's giggle

hello

love those cheeks

Dance In The Rain…

Yesterday morning, as I ran a ton of small errands (you know the kind, just quickly running in and out of places in just a few minutes). Well, it was pouring rain and of course, while our oldest son was in school, hubby was working…I had both my other little guys (4 yrs and 6 mths) with me. I was getting miserable. Zack & I were soaked. We were cold. Zack was just in a “mood” all day long. You know those days….  Well, after all the errands were done, I sat back in the car and just realized why worry about something so small & trivial like that? If we were sitting at home, I’d be wishing it was warm enough for us to go outside and jump in the puddles. One of my favorite things to do with the boys…

And waking up to a beautiful day, while waiting for the school bus, I remembered all the beauty that rain can bring to Mother Nature. So with that, I leave you one of my favorite quotes:

“Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It is about learning to dance in the rain.”

Fun Journal Prompts…Answered by Zachary.

So many of you may remember towards the end of the summer, I posted with Justin’s journal prompts (as it was a little summer request for his school for him to do).  Here are his answers for those that haven’t read it: https://www.teresasweetphotography.com/blog/?p=1626

I’ve been meaning to ask Zachary them…and back then, he really wouldn’t have had the attention span to answer them so today was a good, rainy day to do something fun.  🙂  Journal prompts are fun, especially when they are really young…because you never know what they are going to say.  I think I’m going to make it a habit of doing this for each boy, most likely on their birthday or near their birthday….and see how things change each year.

Zack stood still for about 3 seconds to let me take 2 photos of him today so this is what I got:

Here’s an insight to the mind of a 4 1/2  yr old:

Miss *K*’s Senior Session…

When I met Miss *K* and her mom, Amanda….I swear, I thought they were sisters.  Yeah, yeah….I know that many people say that just to be polite or to start conversation or whatnot, but I’m serious!  I can only hope to look as amazing and young as Amanda does when my kids are high school seniors. 😉

Miss *K* was sweet as anything, beautiful and from what I hear, a fantastic snowboarder, football coach and snowboarding teacher as well!  Both were very patient as I battled the crazy lights that weren’t cooperating with me that night at Lynette’s. 😛  Thanks so much for understanding…haha

It was fabulous meeting the both of you!  Here’s a quick peek at some of my favorites from your session!  Enjoy!
